About the opportunity: Fullstack Engineer

We’re hiring a full-stack engineer who loves tackling real-world, data-driven customer challenges and specializes in backend systems, infrastructure, and data pipelines.

At Multitudes, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment, innovate, and bring your ideas to life in a fast-growing environment. With plenty to build, test, and optimize, you’ll take full ownership of critical backend services, infrastructure design, and the data pipelines powering our AI-driven product.

This role is perfect for someone who can hit the ground running and thrives on diving into complex technical challenges while building impactful features that directly impact our customers.

In a given week, you might:

• Work closely with Founder Lauren and Product Design Lead Laura to understand product requirements, contribute to technical solutions, and participate in customer conversations to gain direct insights into their needs and challenges
• Report to CTO Huanhuan, collaborating on strategic decisions and ensuring alignment with the company's technical direction
• Design and implement scalable backend services to support data processing and work with Lead Data Scientist Vivek to develop features on our AI roadmap
• Work on infrastructure improvements, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using Python and Snowflake, enabling efficient data analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with Hazel, Emily, and Josh (our other engineers) across the stack, stepping into frontend implementation as needed to support project goals and ensure smooth integration
• Be part of the on-call roster, handling incidents and customer issues with urgency to maintain service reliability

Our stack includes a React frontend, Dockerized Typescript APIs powering the backend, and data pipelines using Python and Snowflake/Mage.

Core skills

Required

• Strong experience building and maintaining backend systems (Node.js, Typescript, or similar)
• Expertise in infrastructure design and optimization, with experience in Docker, cloud environments, and scalable architecture
• Deep customer empathy – you're customer-obsessed and eager to meet with customers to understand their pain points and build solutions that truly address them
• Problem-solving mindset, especially when working on complex, data-driven customer issues
• Growth mindset – you thrive on challenges, take risks, and move quickly. You embrace feedback and see failures as opportunities to learn and improve
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Commitment to the core mission and values of Multitudes – you’re passionate about our product, driven by our mission, and excited about the technical challenges ahead
• Excitement about the fast-paced nature of startups and the ability to adapt quickly

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML technologies and how they integrate with backend systems
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines (Python, Snowflake, or similar)
• Familiarity with frontend integration, particularly in React-based applications
